PLF Reviews collected the Product Launch Formula case studies that are publicly documented — from a Mexico City parenting business that started with a 48-hour book loan to Brendon Burchard’s five brands — and put them next to the context Jeff Walker’s “$1 billion in student launches” figure needs.
Three true stories before the Product Launch Formula case studies

Before the launch results, three short true stories about persistence (none of these people used PLF — they’re here for the lesson):
- Howard Schultz pitched 242 investors for his first coffee bar. 217 said no. The 25 who said yes were enough. Read the story.
- Jan Koum told his co-founder he should probably quit WhatsApp and get a job. “Give it a few more months,” Brian Acton said. Five years later Facebook bought it for $19 billion. Read the story.
- Colonel Sanders went all-in on his chicken recipe at 65, living on a $105 Social Security check. Read the story.
The Product Launch Formula case studies below are smaller and more practical — but the pattern is the same: people who kept launching.
The Big Number: “$1 Billion in Launches”
Jeff Walker states that his students have done more than $1 billion in launches, and that over 10,000 people have gone through the PLF coaching program. That figure is an aggregate across many years and thousands of students. It’s a useful signal of scale and longevity — but the individual stories are more instructive.
PLF case study 1: parenting educators in Mexico (Niños De Ahora)
According to Jeff Walker, Gaby Gonzalez and Luis Carlos Flores, two psychotherapists living near Mexico City, created a workshop for parents but had sold only a few seats days before the event. Gaby’s brother lent her his copy of Launch — on the condition she return it within 48 hours. She and Luis applied the strategies immediately and filled the workshop within days.
They kept launching. By Jeff’s account, their business, Niños De Ahora, grew into a multimillion-dollar business with millions of fans in the Spanish-speaking world, and they went on to build two more businesses with multimillion-dollar sales.
Lesson: you don’t need a big list to start — and the formula works outside English-speaking, “internet marketing” niches.
PLF case study 2: Brendon Burchard’s five brands
In an endorsement for Launch, bestselling author Brendon Burchard wrote that he used Jeff Walker’s methodologies to start from scratch and launch five brands, each reaching one million dollars in revenue in less than 12 months.
Lesson: for experts with a message, PLF can be the engine behind multiple product lines.
PLF case study 3: Mindvalley’s launch days
Vishen Lakhiani, founder of Mindvalley, wrote that applying Jeff Walker’s ideas turned stressful launch days into moments of strong customer demand and cash flow, adding millions to the company’s bottom line.
Lesson: launches aren’t only for solo creators — larger companies use the same principles.
PLF case study 4: authors who became online entrepreneurs
Author Ray Brehm has written publicly that Product Launch Formula was the course that moved him from “happy I published a book” to internet entrepreneur, and that PLF taught him not just to launch but to create a course — and get paid while creating it (a Seed Launch idea).
Lesson: for authors, PLF bridges the gap between a book and a business.
PLF case study 5: a personal development membership launch
Blogger and author Steve Pavlina has written that he bought PLF in 2016, became active in Jeff’s community, and based the launch strategy for his membership program on what he learned from Jeff and PLF.
Lesson: membership and community businesses fit naturally with open-enrollment launches.
PLF case study 6: Will Hamilton’s tennis launches (FuzzyYellowBalls.com)
In a case study published on September 4, 2011, Jeff Walker described Will Hamilton, who runs a tennis instruction site. Will’s first Product Launch Formula launch brought in $35,000 in a week for a product that had sold poorly for a year. He relaunched it in September for $65,000, launched a new product in December for $105,000 and another in March for $170,000 — then partnered with tennis’s Bryan Brothers for his next launch.
Lesson: the Launch Conga Line in action — each launch grew the next one.
PLF case study 7: Matthew Woodward’s $134,171 six-day launch
SEO educator Matthew Woodward reports in his Product Launch Formula review (updated May 30, 2026) that his first launch, built on the Sideways Sales Letter, made $134,171 in six days. His daily sales were $30,027, $15,264, $9,810, $22,701, $45,025 and $11,344 — with the biggest day near the close. A later JV launch with affiliates added $128,894, for $263,065 in total.
Lesson: prove the offer with an internal launch first, then bring in partners.
PLF case study 8: Erico Rocha and the launch market in Brazil
On June 6, 2013, Jeff Walker wrote that his Brazilian student Erico Rocha had done 77 launches in multiple markets in Brazil and was about to release a licensed Portuguese version of PLF, Fórmula de Lançamento. That version helped turn “lançamentos” into a whole industry in Brazil. See our guide to the Fórmula de Lançamento.
Lesson: the formula travels across languages and cultures.
PLF case study 9: what went wrong in Yaro Starak’s first launch
Not every story is a record. Blogger Yaro Starak wrote in 2011 about his first launch, a 2007 membership site: vague profit-share promises to his team, doing too much himself, and leaving the sales page to the final week, which forced a rushed $3,000 copywriter hire. He credits launching with later helping him reach “$100,000+ a year online.”
Lesson: plan the sales page, contracts and team before the launch starts.
Patterns across successful PLF launches
- They started smaller than you’d think. Many began with small lists and modest first launches.
- They launched repeatedly. Big results usually came on the second, third or tenth launch — the Launch Conga Line.
- They served a specific audience. Clear avatars, clear transformations.
- They gave real value first. Prelaunch content that people genuinely appreciated.
- They built relationships, not just lists. Community and trust compound over time.
What results should you expect from Product Launch Formula?
There’s no typical result. A realistic expectation for a first launch — especially a Seed Launch — is validation, a modest amount of revenue, testimonials and experience. The businesses in the stories above grew by repeating the process and improving each time.
